A happy community in Phulanya!

There is great joy in the community of Phulanya because access to clean drinking water will be available. Two boreholes were drilled last week!

Background information
When we started our projects in 2020, there were only two boreholes available for six villages in Phulanya. Most people did not have access to clean drinking water. Dirty water sources were used or long distances were traveled to obtain drinking water from the river. Using dirty water sources or river water poses health risks and increases the risk of spreading diseases such as cholera and bilhazia. Our first activities in Phulanya were therefore focused on drilling new boreholes with the aim of making clean drinking water available to the entire community. In 2021 we managed to realize three new boreholes.

A new borehole in Namagawa
Last month we also managed to drill a borehole in the village of Namagawa. Namagawa is remote and there is a great need for access to clean drinking water.Until recently, the drills could not reach the village due to the poor road network. The road network to the village has now been improved making it possible to drill the borehole. One Hope Malawi built a nursery school in Namagawa last year, which will also benefit greatly from the new borehole!

We are filled with gratitude!
